On this particular morning, the forecast was for some fog. So the plan was to drop off my daughter at school and head to the Portland Japanese Garden. I thought the fog movement would make an excellent subject in my time-lapse. Well, guess what? No fog. I still stayed and got the movement of the sun peeking through the trees.

I barely arrived in time to set up this sunset time-lapse.  It took me 5 hours to drive from Portland to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.  I stayed for only a few hours until The Milky Way was visible in the sky, then drove back home.  10 hours of driving for only 3 hours of photography!

I will be releasing a new time-lapse video.  It will be titled “Pacific Northwest”.  I started this project in January 2012 and shot the last scene mid-August 2012.  Here is a screenshot from my upcoming work.
